XGENIA Takes AI Casino Game Development to the Next Level: GamblingAuthority Interviews Adam Davis

Can artificial intelligence lower the barrier so much that anyone can create a game, without writing a single line of code? That’s the claim from Malta-based XGENIA, whose locally run AI platform is already attracting hundreds of developers to an early alpha version.
XGENIA is a platform where the entire development chain is driven by AI – from the first sketch to the final product, without ever touching code.
XGENIA is a platform where the entire development chain is driven by AI – from the first sketch to the final product, without ever touching code.
We spoke with the company’s Chief Revenue Officer, Adam Davis, to learn what this technology means for the casino industry – and why he believes the biggest winners will be the players.
Can you briefly explain what your new AI-powered platform does and how it changes how casino games are created?
XGENIA is an AI-native platform that enables anyone, from first-time solo creators to seasoned studios, to build high-quality games, apps, and interactive experiences without touching a single line of code. Everything from frontend design to backend logic, compliance frameworks, and deployment happens inside one intuitive, local system powered by highly advanced AI.
In addition, all of this comes with unprecedented accessibility thanks to our free tier. Individual creators with no technical background can bring bold ideas to life, just as an established studio can. A process that once took months to years, and multiple specialist teams, can now be completed in days — or even hours — by one person with a vision. This isn't just a faster workflow; it's a whole new way of thinking about who gets to create, and how far they can go.
What advantages does using AI bring to the game development process compared to traditional methods?
The traditional route to launching a game or app is slow, expensive, and highly segmented. You’re often reliant on external developers, siloed tools, and long feedback loops. With XGENIA, AI breaks those silos down by generating code, UI, logic, and compliance scaffolding all in one flow — in real time.
The magic is that this power isn’t reserved for enterprises. Even solo creators on the free plan get access to core features like the no-code builder, logic visualisation, and hundreds of AI integrations. That’s never been possible before. It gives individuals the kind of autonomy and creative range once reserved for companies with six-figure budgets.
When a game can be built in days instead of months, it opens the door to more formats, more voices, and more variety.
When a game can be built in days instead of months, it opens the door to more formats, more voices, and more variety.
How will this platform impact the broader casino gaming market in the next few years? From a 3–5–10-year perspective?
In the short term, we’ll see an explosion of innovation from indie developers and smaller studios — creators who previously didn’t have access to this level of capability, all building faster and more affordably than ever before. The free tier in particular opens the door to creators who were previously priced out or blocked by technical barriers. Expect more niche formats, personalisation, and genre-blending as barriers to entry fall away.
In five years, AI-native platforms like XGENIA will become the standard. Most legacy pipelines will have either integrated AI or been displaced by it. Casino experiences will feel far more dynamic — responsive to player behaviour, regional contexts, and evolving strategies, all in real-time.
Looking ten years ahead, we’ll be in a world of real-time human-AI co-creation. AI will manage dynamic compliance, regional adaptation, behavioural insights, and monetisation autonomously. The big shift will be around ownership — those who control their data and models will lead. That’s why XGENIA is built to run locally. No cloud dependence. Full data sovereignty. In a world where insights are gold, that makes all the difference.
What does this mean for existing game developers? Is this a tool that complements their work, or could it disrupt their role?
XGENIA is here to complement and amplify. We’re not replacing developers — we’re giving them superpowers. By automating the heavy lifting — UI frameworks, compliance scaffolding, backend logic — we free them up to focus on the vision and innovation, not the complexity.
The platform also democratises development in a way that’s unprecedented. Even non-coders can prototype complex ideas and test them live. For professionals, that means the creative bar is rising — but so are the tools. The result is a healthier, more inclusive development culture where creativity, not access, becomes the key differentiator.
Many game studios are already exploring AI in their development — what sets your platform apart from what others are doing?
Where others are experimenting with AI as an add-on — generating artwork here or tweaking content there — XGENIA is fundamentally different. It’s not an AI add-on. It is the studio — a unified, local, AI-powered environment that spans design, logic, integration, and deployment.
And where other AI platforms gatekeep features behind enterprise licensing, as well as profiting from your data, we’ve made sure even the free tier gives creators meaningful power without constraints. This isn’t a restricted version either. It’s the real deal, designed to lower the barrier to entry and expand the range of who can build, test, train, and deploy without ever sending data to a third party. Especially in regulated markets like iGaming, that level of transparency and sovereignty isn’t just a benefit. It’s a necessity.
What kind of new experiences or innovations could players expect to see thanks to this technology?
With development time slashed and costs reduced to near zero, creators can afford to experiment. That means players will encounter more creative formats, more diverse perspectives, and faster iterations. From AI-personalised mini-games to hybrid social betting mechanics — things that once felt niche or risky can now be prototyped and launched by anyone.
We’re already seeing this among the early access pool. They're building things we never anticipated — merging casino logic with story-driven gameplay, turning social dynamics into real-time betting events. When you remove the technical and financial hurdles, creativity flourishes. The traditional formats will still exist and evolve, but around them a new creative frontier is opening up.
We don't replace developers - we give them superpowers.
We don't replace developers - we give them superpowers.
How do you see the role of human creativity evolving in a future where AI plays a growing role in game design?
AI shifts the focus of creativity. Developers are no longer buried under technical overhead — they’re freed to shape emotional arcs, aesthetic worlds, and unique mechanics. The human role becomes more about orchestration and intent — steering the vision rather than constructing every element manually.
XGENIA embraces that shift. It makes the act of creation more immediate and expressive. Whether you're a pro or just starting out, the AI meets you where you are — and scales with you as your vision grows. It’s like moving from composing in sheet music to conducting a live orchestra. The tools are more powerful, but the intent is still human. XGENIA gives creators the freedom to shape their vision without the friction of outdated workflows and complexity.
What’s the most surprising or unusual idea you’ve seen from your AI so far?
The most surprising thing isn’t just the ideas that come out of XGENIA, it’s how complete they are. You can give XGENIA a half-formed concept — say, “a real-money game that blends social deduction and probability puzzles” — and it won’t just suggest gameplay. It builds the mechanics, proposes the monetisation model, hooks in the compliance layers, and sketches a playable prototype.
The system not only executes your vision — it enhances it, often in directions you hadn’t considered. It feels less like using a tool, and more like collaborating with an incredibly fast, endlessly inventive co-creator.
What do you think you'd be doing instead if you weren’t working in gaming and AI?
Honestly? Probably off-grid somewhere, swinging gently in a hammock with a good book and a fresh drink in hand. There’s a lot to be said for analogue peace in our crowded, digital world, especially when you've been working so intensely right at the bleeding edge. But until then, I'll stick with getting groundbreaking, industry changing AI into the hands of as many creators as possible.
