The charity reports that individuals who completed their treatment saw marked improvements, with diminished financial distress and a reduction in gambling-related hardship. This was made possible by maintaining an incredibly low average wait time of just 2.1 days from referral to starting treatment.

Expanding the Reach

In addition to its responsive helpline and treatment programs, GamCare has made impressive strides in widening its reach and enhancing education on gambling-related harm. Through targeted programs, special focus was given to vulnerable groups, and over 10,000 professionals were trained to spot and address signs of gambling distress. Educational resources equipped more than 53,000 young individuals and their families with awareness and preventive measures.

A key initiative was the Women’s Programme, which collaborated with various organisations to tailor interventions and support specifically for women, recognising their unique needs and circumstances.
